Caramel Apples

Last night was suuuuuch a fun night! It started out with me coming home to a fresh, homemade, beautiful meal that Aaron made (steak, potatoes, and spinach salad), AND a super clean apartment! After we ate I started to clean up dinner, but Aaron told me he wanted to clean up, and that I should just sit and relax and watch Food Network. How sweet is he?!?!?!

After things were cleaned up we went to Wal Mart to get supplies for FHE...caramel and apples!!! We also got the movie Freedom Writers from redbox and while that was starting we melted our caramel and dipped our apples. You're supposed to refrigerate them for an hour after you dip them, but we definitely didn't have the patience for that...we put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes and they were perfect!

Aaron also got some egg nog at Wal Mart and had some with his caramel apple. He tried to get me to drink some egg nog too, but I just couldn't do it. (I've only had egg nog once in my life, and one tiny sip almost made me throw up, so I don't think I'll ever drink egg nog again!) Anyways, I forgot how sticky caramel is and I could only get through 1/2 of my apple. But the whole night was so fun and I loved that Aaron and I both had all of our homework done before dinner so we could just be together the whole night. I love married life!

  1. I just made carameled apples like 2 weeks ago! I tried to be all fancy and use caramel/white chocolate/cinnamon/sugar to make the ones like rocky mtn. chocolate factory...they didn't turn out as pretty, but were SOOO delicious. You should try that next time.

  2. Whit, you are too cute. You wanna come be my personal chef? :) Caramel apples are my favorite, but I always end up eating the caramels first.
