souplantation

We have lived here in California for almost 9 months now, and since day one I have been begging Aaron to take me to this random restaurant just around the corner called Souplantation [see picture above]. I have no idea why I've been so obsessed with this place, other than it's always busy, it has a cute name, and I guess I like soups? The only problem is......it's a buffet.....enough said.

Anyways, on Monday it was a little cloudy and we had gone on a rigorous hike/run that afternoon (Upper Newport Bay--so beautiful!) so we were starved and cranky and needed a quick fix. Aaron suggested that we go to Souplantation... I was shocked and surprised and even though I wasn't REALLY in the mood for that day to be "the day" to finally go to Souplantation, I knew that I would never get this chance again. [Aaron isn't a huge fan of Souplantation. If you've been there before, you know why.] Anyways, we went. We both ate too much and decided we'd probably never go back there again. It was still a fun little dinner date, and here are some picturas....

From now on I think we'll stick to our usual spots--Wahoos and Chipotle....and Yogurtland :)

  1. You both are terribly misguided. I think I spent every birthday through age 16 at Souplantation. Way overpriced, but still one of my favorites. Did you try the muffins? And the whipped honey butter? What about the chicken noodle soup with noodles the thickness of your finger?

The only drawback is that they keep it freezing in there so you don't just sit there all day and chow down.

  2. I heard Souplantation was good? But yes, Yogurtland is definitely the best frozen yogurt in existence. I'll have to find some good places up here in SF for you to check out when you guys come up, because I know there is plenty!
