i love you, june.

you know those months that you just love? mine has always always always been june. i woke up yesterday [june 1st] in such a terrific mood and the only explanation i have is that it is finally the best month of the year! both my birthday and our wedding anniversary are in june and plus summer is officially starting, so what's not to love?

for breakfast yesterday i made myself some oatmeal topped with peaches, walnuts, honey, and cinnamon to bring in the new month. it was actually my first time having peaches in my oatmeal [i usually put banana or blueberries] and i was l-o-v-i-n-g it. it all seemed very june-y to me and secretly i felt like i was eating a peach cobbler for breakfast. i'm convinced only good things happen in june and mine is off to a good start. i love you, june.

  2. Yay for June!! It is so cute to hear you gushing about this month - I love it! Your oatmeal looks so delicious! Oats are my favorite thing to eat in the mornings. In the winter, I make oatmeal, but since the weather has heated up, I just eat the oats raw, mixed with plain yogurt... I spiced mine up today with blueberries, honey, and flaxseed oil... but I'm going to take a hint from you & buy a peach next time I go to the grocery store. Also, thanks so much or visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment!

  4. Mmmm, that looks scrumptious! I have never put honey on oatmeal before, but I love peaches in my oatmeal. Do you have the "good honey"? I honestly never knew there was a difference until I married into the family. :)

  7. I love June too! And it's finally starting to look like it too - it was a day or two late in warming up here in Southern California! That breakfast looks delicious! I'm always looking for new breakfast ideas that are healthy AND tasty!

  9. um.....yum! This is like the fifth time this week I've read about steel-cut oats on my friend's blogs. Where do you buy them? Trader Joes? Sprouts? I've got to try them.
