The Great Honey Giveaway. (closed)

when i blogged about my 4-gallon bucket o' honey last week someone suggested in the comments that i do a giveaway, which i thought was such a genius idea! what a perfect way to share this yumminess with all the other honeyholics out there, and of course to say thank you to all of you who read this little blog of mine. so! if you would like to enter The Great Honey Giveaway and have the chance to win a 16 oz. jar of the best kind of honey there ever was (!!!!), just leave a comment below....

[and if you're feeling crazy, you can also tell me in your comment what your favorite way to eat honey is. currently, my favorite way is drizzled over an egg & cooked prosciutto omelette. the sweet and salty is seriously to die for.]

  2. Oo oo me me! This probably too basic for you honeyholics out there, but to me, there's nothing better than my favorite greek yogurt, fig and dates, with some honey and walnuts! Yum!

  9. this is such a great idea! i just learned this sunday that the best way to eat an apple is dipped in honey. it's a yom kippur tradition, apparently, and a very delicious one at that!

  11. I was just thinking of you and your bucket o' honey this morning! Every morning I have a jumbo mug of green tea w/ mint & pour on the honey from one of those honey bears I bought at the store. I was thinking to myself.. man, I wonder how much different her honey tastes compared to this stuff? if only there was a way i could get my hands on some... And BAM you posted this.. Fate? I think so! I'm crossing my fingers!

  13. my mom bakes with honey sometimes because its healthier than sugar... so whenever she bakes something that's how i like to eat my honey! ;P

  14. I bake with honey instead of sugar, so when i saw your post I went looking for a place to get massive amount of honey.

    but i digress, my favorite way to eat honey is on a piece of toast over goat cheese.

  17. Oh how exciting!!! When I saw your post with the big bucket, I immediately showed my husband and was like, "ummmm...yea...need this!". :D How great of you to do a giveaway!!! Hard to believe you would part with some. ;) I kid, I kid!

    Favorite way to eat honey right now...hmmm. Will have to say with toasted cinnimon rasin bread, peanut butter, and bananas! YUM!

  31. I would love to win and compare it to my Dad's honey! I love how different honeys can taste from different areas. I might just drink it... Actually I have a great pasta recipe that I drizzle it over. Come to think of it it has prosciutto in it too!

  33. this reminds me of your little jar of honey when we lived in the house. i remember that you stored it without a lid so that it would get crystally. my dad and i love honey but no one else in my house does. we love going to pike place market in seattle and getting specialty honey. it's great just on toast but lately i love drizzling it over white nectarines and goat cheese.

    Even if I don't win, I would seriously buy a jar. I'm not kidding... I want it that bad.

    Okay so my favorite way to eat honey is on top of a piece of warm toast with chunky peanut butter... but I have to say your honey suggestion sounds OH SO YUM! I am going to have to try that.

  37. yum! i love honey everything. i really love the combo of honey and butter. once i made a peanut butter, honey, cheese sandwich which was delicious! i also eat spoonfuls of the stuff... 'cause it's antibacterial and keeps colds away, okay? naw, it's actually 'cause i'm secretly related to winnie the pooh.

  52. i think this may be a first for you whitney, but... i ALWAYS put honey on my pizza! it's the best thing. ever. hands down. on ANY kind of pizza! (my favorite though: pineapple pizza with honey) but really....ANY kind! :)

I can't decide which way I like better but here are my two ways I like to enjoy honey: a warm piece of cornbread with a little butter drizzled with honey (and I am from San Francisco) OR on a fig with goat cheese drizzled with honey (baked for 7 minutes)! Such a nice little bite sized treat!
