pumpkin.

today i made my very own pumpkin puree! it was my first time making it from "scratch", and was mostly done just out of curiosity.....i figured it was my duty as a devout pumpkin lover to learn how to make it myself, and of course it was super simple, and of course it was delicious. homemade always wins.

for dinner i ended up making myself some Pumpkin Pesto Pasta [cutest alliteration ever?!] which was surprisingly sooo good, and hopefully i'll be making some pumpkin pancakes at some point during my day tomorrow. now i just need these pumpkins to be available for purchase in June so that next year i can make my pumpkin cobbler birthday cake with real pumpkin. :)

  16. so pretty! and no doubt, delicious. when i was in california visiting family recently, my 11-yr old nephew told me how he made pumpkin bread with real pumpkins, and i started to feel kinda bad about myself for never having done that ;)

  20. I've been making my pumpkin pies from real pumpkins since Bryan and I got married and I always look forward to it. They are so delicious and it makes me feel very domestic! I puree a lot and keep it frozen in the frig for pumpkin raisin cookies year round!
