little lessons learned lately.

that a girl can never have too many white t-shirts. // how to make irish soda bread, and another fun way to use my mini cast iron skillets. // that not even an irish holiday could keep us from our favorite mexican restaurant. (shrimp tacos!) // that i might be one step closer to painting again after my 6-month break. key word: might! i set out my paint tubes yesterday and organized them by color. baby steps. :) // that green pants can really come in handy on a holiday like st. patrick's day....

aaron left yesterday and is traveling all week this week for work. i'm missing him like crazy and already looking forward to friday when he gets back! on sunday night while he was packing we had the sweetest conversation. he asked me my favorite kind of questions....questions about our hopes and plans for the future. there is a lot of unknown for us in the upcoming months, but he knows that even when there is nothing to plan, i still love to talk about planning! :) i'm so grateful for him, and i intend to not let the "unknown" get me down. i would hate to look back on this time of my life and wish i had been more positive and optimistic. it's encouraging to know that i still have so many lessons to learn.

  14. girl, i cannot tell you how much i hate when my "life plans" don't turn out how i planned. and the lesson i seem to keep being taught: we don't have control over everything. i hate that one! but i am learning, little by little, to be flexible and everything always turns out just fine :)

  28. Talking about planning is one of the best things you can do as a couple, I think. It leads to such great chats about hopes and dreams and for a moment you can really believe that they will all come true, and then perhaps they will. LOVE this post, love it. x
