This past weekend was Mother's Day, and since I'm not a mom yet and not pregnant, I think it would have been easy for me to have been a real downer. But I have been so incredibly blessed in my life to have both my own mother and Aaron's mother, that how could I ever feel left out on a holiday like this one? They are the best examples, and deserve to have every day be Mother's day. I love them, and they mean so much to me. Plus, a day like yesterday just gets me all the more excited to eventually be able to get pregnant and be a mom someday. It will be so wonderful.....and just because I'm not a mom doesn't mean we didn't celebrate! On Sunday morning we had brunch on the beach (almond butter & honey sandwiches on cinnamon swirl bread, with milk!), we went to church, made homemade pizza for dinner, and I even got to open presents! :) We also got to celebrate our nephew's birthday who turned 1 yesterday. And not to brag or anything...but he took his first steps yesterday, right into his aunt Whitney's arms. This year's Mother's Day has been my favorite. <3

Deletesorry to disappoint you, Acacia, but this blog post was not any kind of announcement, unforunately! i'm not pregnant, but nice of you to say that, though :)
Deletealso looks like i should maybe do a few more sit-ups to prevent any confusion in the future. haha
DeleteYou are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd that skirt is darling.
What a good outlook to have too! Love it.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very nice weekend with fun celebrations. I got a little emotional yesterday, since I'm not a mom yet, but it was wonderful to celebrate the moms in my life :)

ReplyDeletejust found your blog and glad I read this post! mother's day was a little challenging for me this year, as my husband and I have been unable to get pregnant and sometimes it does get hard to not dwell on not being a mother. I admire your positive attitude that some day we will be celebrating as moms, but can still celebrate now! excited to read more of your blog!
