our saturday turned into an [unintentional] all-day date, complete with a walk on the beach, lunch at our favorite mexican restaurant, grocery shopping together/colorful veggies, grilling pizzas at home for dinner, and a night at the movies. also making up the word "saturdate"....which is obviously something to be proud of! ;)
we've been out of town a lot this past month, so it was fun to hang out here at home and do some of our old favorites. the ocean water was seriously ice cold and june gloom was still hanging around a bit at the beach in the morning, but it ended up being a beautiful day and i'm already hoping for another saturdate asap. especially because my date was pretty cute and such a gentleman, as per usual. he always lets me have the last chip. i think i'll keep him. <3

It's funny how to me, at least, the definition of a perfect date has changed. Before, I used to think that dinner at a fancy restaurant, perfect soundtrack, flowers and all that were part of a good date. These days, my perfect dates are related to everything you just said (especially Mexican food!), spending the day with my husband, grilling, doing fun and silly things (like Ikea runs.. those are always fun). That's why I love this post so much. Your pictures capture the beauty in the simple (yet important) things in life.
ReplyDeleteI love those days when my husband and I end up running an errand and it turns into a magical, all day date! We actually had one this past Saturday: my husband took me to get my haircut (he loves it because the stylists always spoil him with mimosas and magazines) and then we ended up walking around downtown Portland where we got free ben and jerry's samples and got to listen to special bagpipe music in Pioneer Square. We then took a hike up one of our favorite trails. I live for days like that.
