the amish country.

After our short time in Portland we hopped on a plane and headed to Ohio to spend Christmas with my family. One of our favorite things to do when we are in Ohio is pay a visit to Amish Country, and it's always the same routine... We buy spices in bulk at the Ashery, sample all kinds of cheeses & fudges at the cheese factory, go to a few furniture stores to admire the handiwork while my mom discusses pricing for one hutch or another, and wander around the hardware store for absolutely no reason. Everyone knows the drill. We come home eating our Amish Country snacks and think about all the things we forgot to get that we should have gotten. Building the excitement for our next trip to Amish Country.

Ohh, tradition. :)

  3. Love that scarf! I have always wanted to visit Amish country, but have never gone. I have family in Pennsylvania so it would be too hard to do, I guess, but nobody else wants to go with me. Time to lay it down and say, "Hey, listen up..." ;) Looks like a great time!

  13. My mother-in-law just bought an Amish-made table, and it seriously is the most beautiful and well-made table I've ever seen. Those people are TALENTED.

Wish I could afford it :)
