#johnsonsinjoshuatree

Last weekend was, without trying to sound too dramatic, life-changing!! Aaron surprised me on my birthday a couple weekends ago with this trip out to the desert, which is something we've talked about doing for at least a year now. I knew there were tons of awesome airbnb spots out there in Joshua Tree, and Aaron picked one out for us that we could not have been more pleased with. It was the Saguaro Hideaway Guesthouse, which you can view HERE. I would highly, highly recommend it! Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about it, I was pretty obsessed with it. It was small but perfect for our little family of three. Wyatt had the time of his life puttering around in a new place and exploring all the little corners of the guesthouse. It was so cute to watch, you could tell he was loving it.

I took a million photos, because I was just so inspired by all of it. It felt so good to be somewhere new and out of our regular routine. I'm normally a die-hard homebody, but I was not ready to come back home last Sunday. I wanted to move in to that little airbnb and stay for another month! I thought about dividing up all my favorite photos into separate posts, but ain't nobody got time for that! So here they all are....

Wyatt basking in the new place when we first arrived on Friday afternoon....

Took a little pitstop on our drive through Joshua Tree National Park on Saturday morning to let Wyatt run around a bit. It was h-o-t!! But these trees were so weird and awesome, and a whole "forest" of them was really cool to see...

Took a few photos of Wyatt Sunday morning after he had gotten a muuuch better night's sleep than the previous night (thank goodness). His toothy little smile seriously kills me, I love it so much...

On Sunday morning we also visited the Cholla Cactus Garden in the national park...

Love these cuties like crazy!!...

Always trying to steal my sunglasses....

The purple cactus that was outside on the property where we stayed. I loved the color...

This kid makes me so happy...

Wyatt snacking on dry cereal and sweet potato puffs in the super awesome kitchen/dining area that I wanted to somehow steal and take home with me...

Wondering what the heck I'm doing....

Wyatt was totally content to just run around the house, climbing onto the couch or rolling around on the bed, or running around in my hat (see above). He is such a funny kid.

On Sunday before we headed home we stopped in Palm Springs to ride on the Palm Springs Aeriel Tramway, which was sooo great! Wyatt actually did not like it all. He whined and cried on the way up and the way down so either he is claustrophobic or scared of heights? The views were spectacular, though, and I was so glad we went.

This photo was taken right before we got on the tram. You could tell he was already not so sure haha...

That's all! I will cherish this little trip we took for forever. It was so fun for us to just get away and not really have any agenda. I hope someday we'll get to visit again...maybe in the winter months when you don't feel like you're in an oven when you're outside? ;) Til next time, Joshua Tree.
